This happens because we can’t keep our whites, white. Summers are perfect to wear white and lighter shades to keep us cool and going. But with dull clothes we tend to put them back in our closet and wear something else. Despite using a variety of bleaches and other chemical based whitening agents, our clothes acquire a yellowish tinge over a period of time. We fail to achieve the pristine whiteness.
How to keep white cloths – white?
Try these simple pointers to keep your, whites absolutely white.
- Hot water keeps clothes white. It the garment’s care label mentions hot water as a big no-no then use lukewarm water.
- Avoid washing white colored clothes with colored clothes
- Using too much of detergents can cause your whites to loose their brightness.
- If the water is hard, then add ½ a cup of vinegar to the water with which you will rinse your whites at the end.
- Chrorine bleach can discolor your whites and can weaken the fabric. Instead you can use lemon juice to organically bleach your clothes.
- Always dry pure whites in the sun as this will help them acquire a clean shine.
- Use shampoo or baking soda to wash the dirty collars.
Never dry a garment that has a stain. Once dried it is impossible to remove the stain as it may become permanent. So no more of yellow clothes or dull whites. Get what you want to see, your clothes shining whitest of whites.
