How to make rose water at home

  • Put the rose’s petals (about a packed cup of rose petals) preferably the deep coloured ones in a heat resistant glass bowl and cover with 2 cups of boiling water.
  • Cover the bowl and let the mixture wait undisturbed for about 30-45mins.
  • Later you can use a thin muslin cloth to filter the water and take out the petals. Discard the petals.
  • After the rosewater has cooled, bottle it up. It will last for a week- 10 days.
  • If you want it to remain for at least a month, you need to add alcohol to it.

Face packs

Given below are a few face packs which can be beneficial for your skin

  • To keep the face clean and the pores tight, one can use multani mitti (Fuller’s earth) and mix it in rose water to achieve the desired consistency. This is good for oily skin.
  • You can use the above mentioned face pack for treating acne. For this you need to add powder of Neem leaves or its paste to it.
  • Use besan (gram flour) and make it a little damp with rose water. Use it as a face scrub. You can use it on alternate days.
