- Mix 1 part vinegar and 2 parts water to clean your windows and mirrors. To wipe you can use an old news paper.
- Glass areas in the kitchen normally are a bit greasier. Take a little tobacco from a cigarette and make it damp. Use this to wipe off the glass surfaces. Dust will not stick to the glass.
- For bathroom mirrors, door etc, use 2 parts soda and 1 part lemon juice. Leave the paste it for 5-10 mins and then wash it off.
- Glassware can be cleaned with a liquid soap preferably containing lemon/lime extracts. They clean better.

- To clean drains and pipes, pour 1/2 cup baking soda followed by 1/2 cup white vinegar and cover the drain. Let this mixture drop down the pipe, then pour 8 cups of boiling water down the drain in order to flush it. Do not use this combination after using any commercial drain opener or cleaner.
- Cut a lemon into half and sprinkle salt on it. Use this to clean copperware. You can also use the thick residue after extracting tamarind pulp
- To clean the insides of your microwave add 2 tbsp. of lemon juice or vinegar in 2 cups of water and fill in a container so that it fills half. Microwave on HIGH for two to three minutes. Carefully remove the bowl and wipe the microwave with paper towels.

- Mix 1/4 cup baking soda in 1 quart of warm water. Use this solution to clean the fridge.
