What to do with leftover food is something we always ask ourselves whenever we have some leftover food? More often than not we find out refrigerators to be filled with food we don’t want to eat or we don’t like. We tend to throw them away. Instead here are a few tips which will help you to recycle the food in a way that is healthy and nutritional. Also you don’t have to make the same recipe again.
So here it is
1. Potatoes: Combine leftover mashed potatoes with chopped onion and shredded cheese, then bake. This tastes yummy. You can also form balls of leftover mashed potatoes around cubes of cheese. Then deep fry them.
2. Egg: You can use leftover egg yolks too. Just poach the yolks until firm. Make sure you cool them completely and press through a sieve. You can use it to garnish in salads and soups.
3. Vegetable: Put them in between 2 layers of bread and eat them as a sandwich. If you have uncooked but cut vegetables then you can make a salad of your own. You can stir fry them and use them to prepare fried-rice or veg-noodles.
4. Bread crusts: Cut into squares and fry or dry roast them. You can use them in soups as croutons. You can give it to your dog or even feed the birds. You can make a sweet dish out of it using jams and ice creams.
5. Fruits: you can puree them to make a delicious smoothie. Or you can also make a puree to put as toppings on ice creams. For these you can use mango, strawberry but not banana or papaya.
6. Cheese: you can use in salad, melt over bread as in grilled cheese sandwich or pizza and also put in an omelette. You can also mix them with mashed potatoes to make parathas. You can also make cheese balls by making round balls out of it and frying them.
7. Non- Veg: You can shred them or cut them into small pieces and use them in salads, noodles, rice, macaroni, sandwiches and even omelettes. They taste great.
