Are you looking for Haleem recipe? Here is an Easy Halim recipe for all those who want cook this dish at home. Haleem being a popular dish during the Ramzan – is something you will get on stalls on each roadside during the Ramzan. However if you are in a place where Haleem is not easily available in market – here is easy cooking method to make Haleem.
Ingredients:
200 gm Wheat (washed and soaked in water for 2 hrs)
300 gm Boneless Mutton
100 gms Cooking oil
3 large Onions (finely sliced)
Juice of 2 Lemons
2 tsp Garam Masala
Salt to taste
Dry fruits like kaju/pista/kismis
For Paste
1-2 Fresh Green Chillies (according to taste you can add more)
2 inch piece Ginger
6-8 flakes Garlic
How to make Haleem:
- Clean and marinate mutton and then marinate with half of ground paste of ginger, garlic, green chillies and salt for 1 hour.
- Cook the soaked wheat and marinated meat for about 45 minutes in a pressure cooker.
- Mince and grind to a fine paste.
- In a pan heat oil, add the finely sliced onions, fry till light brown, add the garam masala.
- Add the ground paste and keep stirring on slow flame, till the mixture leaves the sides of the pan.
- Serve hot, with lemon wedges and dry fruits wedges

Hi Tania,
Normally we do not add sugar to it. But a large pinch of sugar can be added as sugar enhances the taste of salt. and this amount wouldn’t alter the taste of haleem.
