Konkona Sen Sharma got married to her long time beau Ranvir Shorey on September 3, 2010 at 6.00 p.m in a hush hush ceremony at their suburban Mumbai residence. She wore the resplendent jewellery owned by her grandom. For reasons unknown the marriage was kept under wraps. The couple had been living in for the past two years. Konkona and Ranvir have been rather low profile.
The ceremony, a blend of Bengali and Punjabi elements, had groom Ranvir Shorey all dressed up in a traditional ‘sherwani’, decked in flowers from head to toe. Konkona remained indoors, through most of the ceremony, amid close family folks and friends, strictly avoiding the media. Konkona’s mother Aparna Sen (with her husband Kalyan Roy) and father Mukul (with his wife Vinita) were among those present. Elder sister Kamalini was down from Cincinnati to attend the closed-door wedding in Mumbai.Most industry folks were not invited to the function.
