How to teach oral hygiene to your child – the big question for any new comer in the world of parenthood. Same time as a parent, one of your most vital roles is to prepare your child for life, by teaching those healthy habits and life skills. Generate a good oral hygiene habit from an early age is necessary. So what is the best way to teach your child to correctly care for his teeth? How to inspire and encourage their children’s to take great care of their teeth.
Be trained proper brushing techniques yourself (the kids follow parents). Check with your dentist for opinion. Brush your teeth in front of your child. Demonstrate the child what you are doing and explain why to brush the teeth?
Make daily flossing a normal part of your child’s routine. Explain to the child that flossing cleans between teeth where the toothbrush cannot reach.
Provide your child with the exact brush/tools. Buy a small child’s toothbrush that will fit comfortably in there mouth. Allow them to choose for a favorite toothpaste flavor. Purchase flossing sticks to make dental floss easier to control.
Show your child what happens to teeth that are not brushed. Find books or websites that show photographs of tooth decay and explain the complications that come from it. Make an impact on upon them that importance of a hygienic brushing teeth’s.
Brush teeth twice daily as suggested by the Dental Association. Let your child brush there teeth’s morning and night before going to bed. Teach them that after they brushed the teeth at bedtime, they can have nothing else to eat and only water to drink, so that while sleeping with anything in there mouth that can cause cavities damage.
Learn & Teach them about the effects of different food on teeth. Teach your child to avoid cavity-causing foods, such as chewy candy that catch the teeth. Instead encourage them to eat food that is good for the teeth.
It is forever advised to talk about with your children about all the aspects of dental hygiene. Children can be influenced if you are really able to make them to be aware of, why it is needed to take proper care of their teeth. You should talk about all the positive aspects of brushing in the right process.
As a parent it is very necessary for you to check that a child carries his/her dental hygiene with sincerity. You should not be irritated them, if your child does not have habit to take care of teeth. By taking all the above steps you can really educate dental hygiene to your children.
