Children’s film Gattu enters into Berlin Film Festival

Children’s film Gattu enters into Berlin Film Festival. Children’s film Gattu is produced by the Children’s Film Society of India (CFSI) and directed by Rajan Khosa.

The biennial International Children’s Festival of India held in Hyderabad last year the film Gattu that released the 17th edition in November, has been chosen as India’s entry to the Berlin International Film Festival, and also recognized as Berlinale. The movie Gattu is going to release in April in India that is in summer holidays for schools.

CFSI conducted a competition and the story of the movie Gattu was selected. Gattu was written by KD Satyam, this autobiographical tale revolves around a young boy named Gattu, who is uneducated but shrewd. By this quality and the passion for kite flying that ultimately helps him conquer the unbeatable kite, called Kali.

 The movie Gattu was picturised in Roorkee, Uttarakhand, was the fact that Samad Mohammad, a 5th Class student who plays the character of Gattu, turned out to be natural at kite flying.
