Dibakar Banerjee as a director has made an unorthodox political drama movie making it worth to watch. Dibakar came up with an offbeat subject which featuring brilliant show of acting with excellent direction. Dibakar has lifted the core plot from Vasilis Vasilikos’ novel Z.
Shanghai showcases a lot of social drama, merciless politics and the realism of society that may change your understanding towards many social aspects. Bollywood actors, Abhay Deol and the serial kisser Emran Hashmi has played their roles of protagonists brilliantly and has been very clever in delivering lovely performance in serious image.
Kalki Koechlin is also decent in her role. Abhay Deol done in justice to his role of IAS officer with his serious and smooth acting. Emran Hashmi, as Jogi has done amazingly well with his stained teeth and mawali moves.
Dibakar Banerjee who made some decent movies like Khosla Ka Ghosla, Joye Lucky Lucky Oye and Love Sex aur Dhokha, is impressed this time in displaying the real picture of the system’s bad face in desi style and the special mention to be given for him this time around.
All in all, Shanghai is a fascinating thriller!
