Cocktail is all set to turn out to be one of the twisty Bollywood romantic comedy films directed by Homi Adajania under Saif Ali Khan’s banner Illuminati Films. The film features Saif Ali Khan alongside Deepika Padukone and the newbie in the town Diana Penty in lead roles. Randeep Hooda, Dimple Kapadia and Boman Irani also star as supporting roles.
The film is all set to hit the screens this13 July 2012. Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is all set for the release of his latest movie Cocktail and it features everything overseas and Indian audience would love to see. The film also impresses rural areas as well. ‘Cocktail’ is a romantic comedy directed by Homi Adajania of ‘Being Cyrus’ fame and will hit the screens world-wide on July 13.
This will be the third time that Saif and Deepika Padukone will be seen together in a film, after ‘Love Aaj Kal’ and ‘Aarakshan’. The film story spins around three main characters, played by Saif, Deepika and newcomer Diana Panty. When 24-year-old Veronica (Deepika) and Meera, 23, kick off living together during the summer in London, they have very different goals. Meera is hard to do or deal with, shy and forgetting a nightmare marriage to Kunal Ahuja who has deceived her off her life-savings by using the acting of setting up a base for them in London.
She shares her time with Veronica until she can get some footing and find a job in this new world Veronica, on the other hand, is a tough, smart and easy going girl constantly looking for diversions to escape facing issues of a troubled upbringing. Being opposite poles brings the two closes, maintaining a loyal and solid friendship. Soon Gautam, 32 comes into joining with them, moves in with them and has a twister relationship with Veronica much to Meera’s protective disapproval.
Meera hates Gautam because his attitude reminds her of her selfish husband who had cheated her into coming to London in the first place. Both Gautam and Veronica love enjoying every moment and they honestly consider this a throw rather than a serious relationship. But as three people patching up they all have a blast… Though their intentions for each other don’t change, their friendship starts building great bond.
It turns out to be a beautifully balanced friendship between trios. The film seems to be a contemporary story about the interplay between friendship and romantic love and how in the true sense one really can’t exist without the other.
