Nur Suryani Mohammed Taibi (29) a Malaysian woman who is 8 months (35 weeks) pregnant will compete in 10-meter air rifle shooting at the London Olympics 2012. Nur Suryani Mohammed Taibi hopes to win an Olympic medal before the baby birth.
Malaysian shooter Nur Suryani Mohamed Taibi is not only the first woman to represent her country in shooting, but also the utmost beside for any mom-to-be competing in the London Olympics 2012.
Nur Suryani Mohammed Taibi is ranked 47th in the world and won two golds at the Southeast Asian Games in 10-meter air rifle and 50-meter rifle in November.
Nur Suryani Mohammed Taibi finished fifth in 10-meter rifle at the Asian Championships in January to earn a spot on Malaysia’s Olympic team.
Nur Suryani Mohammed Taibi also reached qualified for the 50-meter three-position event, but she decided against competing in two Olympic events.
Nur Suryani Mohammed Taibi with her willpower has proved that women can do anything a man does and brought her to London Olympics 2012 much earlier as Malaysian airlines don’t allow a woman 35 weeks (8 months) pregnant to travel on their flights. Nur Suryani Mohammed Taibi accompanied by her husband Marhazli Mohtar is working as policeman.
